Metals
- Steel for the hull
plating, main deck and
raised foredeck and all
other plating throughout the
vessel associated with the
immediate hull and main deck
frames, webs and flanges
will be steel. Hull
longitudinal framing and
other steel extrusions shall
be Grade A steel.
- Aluminum alloy for the
Superstructure:
2.1. Plate: 5083-H 116.
Specified for marine use.
2.2. Extrusions:5086-H111
and 6061-T6 to be used as
specified on the plans
- Aluminum alloy castings
are to be avoided, but where
needed: 356-T6.
- TRICLAD® material will
be used to weld steel to
aluminum. The proper grade
of TRICLAD® material shall
be selected to match the
steel and aluminum being
welded.
- Stainless steel shall be
304, 316 or 316L, SAP 2205,
Inconell 235, 234, 625 and
25-6M0 or CuNi 90/10
depending on application,
except where otherwise
specified.
- Bronze or approved CPVC
fittings - fittings of
dissimilar materials
attached to aluminum shall
be insulated gaskets shall
extend 3mm beyond fittings.
106-00 BULBOUS BOW
A bulbous bow shall be
incorporated into the
structure. Plating to be
heavy steel.
HULL PLATING
The shell plating shall
have flush welded buffs and
seams using two sided welds.
Hull plating welds shall be
ground flush on the outside
as much as allowed by ABS.
Distortion of bare steel
plating after being fully
welded shall not exceed 4mm
in any direction between
frames by using a three (3)
meter batten.

or Muir 6000 Lbs windlasses
with 450’ of 5/8” High
tensile chain on each side (
port and starboard) and 240
Kgs Navy type anchor to be
stored in two polished
stainless steel anchor pocket
located at port and starboard
bow sides
AIR CONDITIONING
Aqua air Chilled water
consisting of three
compressors with a 20 ton
capacity.
Air conditioning
condensate shall drain to the
gray water tank,through a
separate common drain pipe
with appropriate water traps.
STABILIZERS
AMERICAN BOW THRUSTER
stabilizer model 370 with 20
sqft fins or similar.
FUEL OIL PURIFIER
ALFA LAVAL fuel system
model MIB 303 plus RACOR
filters on all supply lines.
LUBE OIL SYSTEM
Two (2) storage tanks
shall be installed, one for
clean lube oil, the other for
waste oil.
SEAWATER SYSTEM AND
MACHINERY COOLING
The Builder shall furnish
and install (2) two sea
chests in the engine room
using 6” pipe, with cross
over pipe.
All piping to be CuNi, sea
chests to be fitted with
removable tops. The sea chest
arrangement shall be fitted
with a vent valve which will
be configured in such a way
that compressed air can be
attached to clear the system.
Engine Ventilation
The engine room shall have
two fans (one supply and one
exhaust). Fans to be variable
speed and separately switched.
Variable frequency drive (VFDs)
shall be included for engine
room fans. Engine room supply
and exhaust air shall be
ducted through grills, water
traps, baffles.
FRESH WATER SYSTEM
The two pressure pumps on
fresh water system shall be
piped in parallel with
automatic pressure switches
to control them, set at
slightly different pressures.
Water Maker

Black Water System
The black water tank shall
be of steel construction,
integral with the hull, The
tank shall be fitted with two
(2) diaphragm pumps actuated
by a high and low level
switches which will also
actuate an indicator lights
and an audio alarm.
Toilets to be HEADHUNTER
water jet system.
Gray Water System
The two gray water tanks
shall be of steel
construction, integral with
the hull, The tank shall have
a diaphragm pump and shall be
fitted with two (2) level
switches (high and low) to
control the sump pump.
Operation to be automatic,
with an override switch to
permit manual operation.
Sinks and showers shall
have individual water traps
and shall drain to the gray
water tanks.
FIRE, BILGE AND ANCHOR
WASH
The bilge system is to
include two large bilge pumps,
one (I) direct engine driven
pump located in the E/R and
one (1) 220 VAC electric pump
located in the E/R, connected
to the bilge manifold. In
addition, there will be seven
(7) submersible pumps, one in
each compartment. There shall
be a 5Omm hand bilge pump,
mounted in the engine room as
well.
In addition, there shall
be one (I) portable diesel
driven self-priming emergency
fire and bilge pump that is
compliant with ABS.
Under normal conditions,
the fire main shall be
pressurized by the electric
bilge/fire main pump, located
in the E/R, which then draws
from a the main sea chest in
the E/R. There shall also be
a crossover pipe from the
pump to the E/R bilge
manifold.
The fire main runs outside
the engine room and feeds the
four (4) fire stations
located throughout the vessel
and the forward located
anchor wash.
TENDER HANDLING
The builder shall supply
and install a 2000 Lbs
MARQUIPT hydraulic boom crane.
